Who we are

Used Campervans UK is operated as a sole trader. We run an online marketplace where people can list items for sale and buyers can contact sellers directly. When you use this site, you trust us with some personal information — this policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What data we collect

When you post a listing, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number (if provided)
• Your listing details: title, description, price, category, location, condition
• Photos you upload with your listing
• Payment confirmation from Stripe (we do not see or store your card details)

When you browse the site, we do not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising tools. We do not collect IP addresses or browsing behaviour beyond what Vercel's hosting infrastructure logs for security.

Why we collect it

• To publish your listing — your name, contact details, and listing information are displayed publicly so buyers can reach you
• To process payment — your email is passed to Stripe to generate a checkout session and send you a payment receipt
• To moderate listings — we review listings before or after they go live to ensure they comply with our terms

We do not sell your data, use it for marketing, or share it with anyone except the processors listed below.

Third-party processors

• Stripe — handles payment processing. Stripe stores your payment information under their own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation that payment was made.
• Supabase — our database and file storage provider. Your listing data and uploaded images are stored on Supabase's infrastructure, hosted in the EU.
• Vercel — our hosting platform. Vercel serves the website and may log basic request data (IP, user agent) for security purposes.

Cookies

We use one cookie: an admin authentication cookie, set only when an administrator logs into the admin panel. It is an httpOnly session cookie and is not used for tracking.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.

Data retention

Listings are active for 90 days from the date of payment. After expiry, your listing is marked inactive but the data is retained in our database for a further 90 days before permanent deletion, in case of any disputes.

Images are stored in our file storage and deleted when the listing is permanently removed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data (subject to any legal obligations)
• Object to how we use your data

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
